"Flamenco Pasión" was founded by flamenco dancer Sandra La Espuelita in 2001. It initially comprised a fairly small group of professional flamenco singers and guitarists and dancers based in and around London UK. Before long, the group comprised a mixture of English, Spanish and other European flamenco musicians and artists - all with a common passion for the art form. Each had studied flamenco extensively in Spain, and were already recognized and well respected within the Flamenco community itself.

Priding itself on traditional "flamenco puro" style, Flamenco Pasión quickly became known for the authenticity and passion it characteristically brought to its flamenco performances and shows. With each member of the group intimately acquainted with the style and artistic expression of the others, this made for a unique degree of excitement and originality - particularly within the improvisatory elements of true flamenco expression.

At the same time, it was felt that many of the theatrical and dance agents when looking for flamenco performers for hire did not fully appreciate the unique nature of flamenco as an art form, in particular with respect to its improvisatory style. The performers began to feel limited in what they could achieve in terms of true artistic expression, and it is for this reason that a specialist flamenco agency was set up in the UK in 2006.
