Flamenco Dance workshops are exciting, noisy, colourful and fun. Spanish music, Spanish dancing, costumes...what more could a child ask for?
Flamenco Dance Eduction teaches posture, rhythm, co-ordination, music and movement, and enhances other work being done within the classroom on the history, geography and language of Southern Spain. What more could a school ask for?
Sandra La Espuelita is an experienced teacher of Flamenco Dance for children, and her Spanish dance teaching for schools has expanded over the years from London and Essex to right across the UK. She can offer one-off "Assembly" talks and flamenco demonstrations and/or interactive flamenco dance workshops for groups of children; or a series of dance lessons leading to a performance by the children. Working either with flamenco guitarists or to pre-recorded specialist music, she is flexible and adaptable to the needs of each school and Key Stage.
Sandra has a particular aptitude for children with special needs, giving them opportunities to experience many aspects of the music and dance at the level that suits them best. This has proved very popular with children with a range of needs, aged from 5 to 19 and the feedback from both teachers and pupils has been extremely positive.
Full Spanish flamenco dance costume is worn and children at any Key Stage level can learn more about how the music and dance is enhanced with palmas (hand clapping), castanets, shawls and fans.
